Mechanism of Lotion Pumps

Lotion pumps suctions air to withdraw the lotion or cosmetic product from the bottom of the bottle to the consumer’s hand. As the consumer presses the actuator, the piston compresses the spring resulting in air pressure and ball component rising upward. The lotion or cosmetic product goes upward into the dip tube towards the chamber. 

When the consumer releases the actuator, the spring releases its coil which makes the actuator and piston go back into its original position. Also, the ball component goes back to its resting position, preventing leaks and excessive dispensing of the product.
